Are You Cheating if you ride an Ebike?

There have been many discussions on the pros and cons of the ebike.  Many feel that it is just another expensive toy and lacking the Real value of exercise and others feel that it is a perfectly wonderful means of transportation and exercise.

So we ask what do you think? Is riding an ebike “Cheating” or is it truly and alternative to transportation and exercise?

Here is our view…

We feel that ebikes are a form of transportation and exercise and not just merely an expensive toy.

First of all, these are NOT TOYS. They are machines that are energy efficient, clean, and fun.

Ebikes are meant to provide efficient transportation with the benefit of exercise and enjoyment.

I know that for myself I had the tendency to start up the car because just the thought of riding my bike in the wind, legs shaking and getting all sweaty was not how I wanted to arrive to my destination. With the ebike and using the power assist I have found that getting to where I want to go without the sweat and shakes and dreading the return trip, has given me the alternative to my transportation needs.

Ebikes are quiet and practical.

Having an ebike has brought out many new riders, especially the baby boomer age. Exercise at any level is so very important to our health and just getting out and pedaling your way around will provide you with the same wonderful side effects of weight loss and endurance as riding a normal bike, because you are doing it and not just looking at the bike and wishing or in some cases dreading.

An ebike is a win-win for you and the environment. Getting yourself to your destination quicker, being able to do many trips during the day if necessary, and still have plenty of energy for other things and all of this for mere pennies.

Our world is changing and if each of us takes on one small thing to make things cleaner and healthier for the next generations than we would all be doing our part. So, next time you are out and about, stop and test drive an ebike and then remember who sent you.
